About the QR Customizer
The QR Customizer turns any URL, text snippet, or short message into a branded QR code. Pick foreground and background colors, drop in a logo or icon, and download a print-ready PNG or scalable SVG β all without leaving your browser. Premium members can also make a code trackable and watch how many times it gets scanned, day by day.
Generation runs entirely on this page using an open-source QR library. Your link, logo image, and customizations are never uploaded to a server.
What you can control
- Input: any URL, plain text, or short payload
- Foreground and background colors to match your brand
- Center logo: upload your own PNG or pick from the built-in icon set
- Error-correction level (higher = more room for logo overlay)
- Size and margin (quiet zone) for clean printing
- Download as PNG (raster) or SVG (vector) for crisp scaling
Common uses
- Marketing collateral: posters, flyers, business cards, table tents
- Linking to landing pages, menus, signups, or app downloads
- Branded codes for events, conferences, and packaging
- In-store signage that drives scans to product or review pages
Tips
- Use high error correction (H) when adding a logo so scanners still read it
- Keep enough contrast between foreground and background β dark on light scans best
- Download as SVG when the QR will be enlarged for posters or signage
- Always test the printed QR with multiple phones before going to production
QR codes that fail to scan are worse than no QR at all. Print a test copy first and walk through the scan flow on at least one Android and one iOS device.
Track your scans (Premium)
Want to know whether the flyer or the poster is pulling? Flip on Track scans before generating and the code becomes trackable: it encodes a short branded link on thedollarweb.com that counts each scan and instantly forwards the scanner to your destination. Every tracked code is unique to your account, so your stats are always yours alone, even if someone else makes a code for the same page.
- Click the π symbol next to any saved tracked code to see its total scans and a day-by-day timeline
- Export the numbers any time as a scans-per-day CSV for your reports
- Link previews and crawler bots are filtered out, so counts reflect real people
- Tracking is off by default; codes made without it stay fully static and self-contained
We store only the destination link you chose to track and a timestamp per scan. Nothing about who scanned is collected.
Common questions
How do I create a QR code for a link, free?
Paste the URL, style the code (colors, corner and module shapes, optional center logo), and download at the size your print job needs. It scans immediately and forever.
Do free QR codes expire?
Static ones never do, and that is what this generates: the destination is encoded in the image itself, with no service behind it to lapse. Beware of generators that default to dynamic codes, which stop working when the trial does.
What is the difference between static and dynamic QR codes?
Static codes contain your data directly; dynamic codes contain a link to the provider's server, which redirects (and usually expires with a subscription). This tool generates static codes by default. The optional Premium scan tracking is the one exception: it uses a short redirect link on our own domain so scans can be counted, and it is always your choice per code.
Can I track how many times my QR code is scanned?
Yes, with Premium: turn on Track scans and the code counts every scan. The saved code gets a π button showing the total, a daily timeline, and a CSV export of scans by day. Each tracked code is unique to your account, so the numbers are yours alone.
Can I add my logo to the QR code?
Yes. A center logo with sensible sizing keeps the code scannable while making it unmistakably yours, and the styling options match the modules to your brand.
Will it scan reliably from print?
Yes, and the tool now checks for you: after every change it runs an automatic scan test on the preview and shows a pass or a warning, plus hints when a color is too light or a logo too large. The classic print rules still apply: strong contrast, adequate size for the scanning distance, and a test scan of the actual printout.
How do I save the QR code to my phone's photos?
On phones and tablets, tap Save to Photos and the share sheet lets you put the PNG straight into your camera roll instead of the Files app. On desktop, the Copy image button puts the QR on your clipboard for pasting into documents and chats.
