About the Password Generator

The Password Generator builds strong, random passwords on the fly so you never have to settle for a weak or recycled one. Pick a length, choose which character types to include, and copy the result straight into your password manager or signup form.

Every password is generated locally in your browser — there is no server, no logging, and no analytics on the password itself. What you see on the screen is the only copy that ever exists.

What you can control

• Password length from 6 to 32 characters
• Uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols toggles
• Exclude similar-looking characters (i, l, 1, L, o, 0, O)
• Exclude ambiguous symbols ({}, [], (), slashes, quotes)
• Require at least one character from each enabled group
• Live strength meter that updates as you adjust the settings

Common uses

• Creating fresh passwords for new accounts and signups

Tips

• Aim for 16+ characters with all four character types when the site allows it
• Turn on "Require at least one from each group" so every enabled type appears
• Exclude similar characters if you have to type the password by hand
• Pair this with the Hash Generator if you need a checksum of a passphrase instead

Reuse is the single biggest password risk — generate a new password for every account, store it in a manager, and you remove the blast radius of any one breach.
