About the Image to SVG Converter

Image to SVG converts raster images (PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP) into scalable vector SVGs. Choose a vector-trace preset to get clean, editable paths sized for any resolution, or use Exact Copy to embed the original pixels inside an SVG wrapper for a one-to-one representation that still scales without quality loss.

All processing happens in your browser using ImageTracer. Your image never leaves your device, and the resulting SVG is generated locally.

What you can control

• Drag-and-drop or upload any common raster format (PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP)
• Pick a trace preset: Detailed, Smooth, Posterized, Sketch, or Bold Outline
• Tune advanced options (color count, path smoothing, stroke width) when you need fine control
• Switch to Exact Copy mode for a pixel-perfect SVG wrapper around the original image
• Preview the result side-by-side with the original before exporting
• Download the final SVG or copy the markup directly

Tips

• High-contrast, flat-color images vectorize best — gradients and noise produce messy paths
• For logos, try the Bold Outline preset first; for photos try Posterized
• Crop and remove the background before tracing to drop the file size of the SVG significantly
• Use Exact Copy only when path fidelity matters more than file size — the SVG will be roughly as big as the original image

For sharper traces from low-resolution sources, upscale the input first (or capture a higher-res copy) — vector tracing can only follow edges that are actually present in the pixels.
