Your bank sends every statement locked with some formula like the last four digits of your account plus your birth year, your payslips arrive encrypted, and an insurance letter refuses to print because someone flipped a restriction flag a decade ago. When you have the right to the document, typing the same password for the hundredth time is not security, it is friction. This tool removes the lock: load the PDF, enter the password it currently opens with (or nothing at all, for restriction-only files), and download a clean copy that opens instantly everywhere.
Think about what a typical "unlock PDF online" site asks of you: upload a confidential document and hand over its password, the exact pair of things the password existed to protect. Even if the site is honest, your statement and its key sat together on someone else's server. Here the unlocking runs entirely on your device using qpdf compiled to WebAssembly, the same engine behind serious PDF pipelines.
